WordStar Emulator
The WordStar Command Emulator provides specific copy to the Windows Clipboard commands, just as in WordStar. However, version 1.0 of the WordStar Command Emulator also used the Windows Clipboard for copy and move block functions. This was changed in version 1.1. You should purchase an upgrade to the full version of the WordStar Command Emulator.
If there is a delay after typing a command where nothing seems to happen, it is probably following a command that calls a Word dialog box, or a new code procedure. Word has to load these into memory the first time they're used, and maybe again later if they haven't been used for some time. This can sometimes take a few seconds, especially on older computers.
If you get a Run-time error 91 after typing a command you are probably using Word as your email editor in Microsoft Outlook and you have tried to type an editing or document navigation command without having an open document. Make sure you have a document open.
Note: this type of error is trapped, but when used with Outlook or Outlock one of these two programs causes the error to occur. Cancel the warning, open a document, and continue.
Undo and Redo menu and toolbar items don't always detail the action to be un/redone. Some actions are listed as bookmarks - these are WordStar command actions. Word doesn't treat program code blocks as single actions. To overcome this the program uses a number of bookmarks which Word is registering as possible un/redo actions.

Unfortunately Word does not allow for monitoring the keyboad, except for defined hot keys, so there is no easy way to see how long you take to type a character which is what would be needed to display these menus.
You can however, display Quick Help style screens by selecting them from the Help menu, or by typing ^J followed by the command for which you want help (e.g., ^JP will display the Print Commands help screen). Word 97 doesn't allow you to keep these screens open whilst working though, they must be closed again before Word will let you continue typing.
