I've accidentally called the WordStar Command Emulator wordstar.dot (or WStar14.dot) Normal.dot and lost my original, what should I do?
As long as you hadn't created new styles in your Normal.dot template this situation is recoverable, if you had, they will have been lost!
Firstly; Next time read the installation instructions before starting!:
Proceed as follows:
- Copy the WordStar Command Emulator into your Word STARTUP folder as you were supposed to do: Word 2007 and later and Earlier Word versions.
- Delete your Templates\Normal.dot file and start Word. Word will recreate a default Normal.dot for you.
You should perhaps consider backing this file up after you change any styles or do any other customisations.
