Supported Microsoft Word Versions

The WordStar Command Emulator can work with many different versions of Microsoft Word.

WordStar Command Emulator with asian or arabic versions of Word

The WordStar Command Emulator doesn't work with nihongo version of Word (Japanese) and probably won't work with other asian specific, or arabic versions of Word either. Test with the trial version first.

Will the WordStar Command Emulator work with Word 2010?

The WordStar Command Emulator is fully compatible with all Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) versions of Word, including Word 2010. However, with Word versions that use the "ribbon" menu (2007 & 2010 at the time of writing) the pull-down menus won't be available, but all the keyboard comands will remain active.

Will the WordStar Command Emulator work with Word 97?

The WordStar Command Emulator is fully compatible with all Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) versions of Word, including Word 97. However, with Word versions that use the "ribbon" menu (2007 & 2010 at the time of writing) the pull-down menus won't be available, but all the keyboard comands will remain active

Will the WordStar Command Emulator work with Mac versions of Word?

The WordStar Command Emulator doesn't work with Microsoft Word for the Mac. This is because there are differences in the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) between Windows and Mac versions of Word, and the operating systems also impose additional restrictions. There hasn't been enough demand to fund a Mac version.

Will the WordStar Command Emulator work with Word 2007?

The WordStar Command Emulator is fully compatible with all Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) versions of Word, including Word 2007. However, with Word versions that use the "ribbon" menu (2007 & 2010 at the time of writing) the pull-down menus won't be available, but all the keyboard comands will remain active.

WordStar Command Emulator for Word 2, 6, or 95

The WordStar Command Emulator doesn't work with Word 2, 6, or 95 because these versions use WordBASIC for their programming language but the WordStar Command Emulator is written using Word Visual basic for Applications (VBA).
